Riverglen Challenge Draws over 100 Competitors

The First Annual Riverglen Challenge was held here last Saturday, September 12th and clearly demonstrated the joy of crossing bridges and spanning generations. With 114 official contestants entered in the 5.65 mile run and walk, plus a two-mile walk, entrants far exceeded expectations. A lively and dedicated crew of volunteeers from the LIitleton Area Senior Center, Riverglen House, Peabody and Smith and members of the Littleton community (including three high school students) pulled together magnificently to put together a fun day for contestants, thier families and on-lookers. Created and managed by David Dodge of Riverglen House, the Riverglen Challenge is designed to foster support for fitness programs at the Senior Center.

Within the ranks of competitors were three families spanning three generations and one that included four! Our hats go off to these families. For official results, go to coolrunnings.com and type in riverglen. Trophies were presented to over 40 participants including medals for children under 12.

We can't wait for next year!
