LITTLETON, Sept 12, 2009
The First Annual Riverglen Challenge will kick off on Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 AM at the Littleton Senior Center in Littleton, NH. “Crossing bridges – Spanning Generations” describes how runners and walkers of all ages will step out along several courses crossing scenic bridges over the Ammonoosuc River to benefit senior health and fitness programs at the Littleton Senior Center.
The professionally-timed five-mile running course starts at the Senior Center on Riverglen Lane, proceeding along the Riverwalk path to Riverside Drive, then left on to Industrial Park Road, up Mt. Eustis Road, and back through the Bronson Street neighborhood. Racers will then cross the suspension bridge on to Saranac Street, and finally back over the covered footbridge to the finish line on the Riverglen House lawns. A local band, “Helen and Friends,” promises its famous foot stomping music as participants cross the finish. Food and refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in seven age categories. Numbers will be presented to all runners, and their times will be recorded.
